President's Message

What Are We Professing?

Several years ago at a Dynamic Essentials meeting, Dr. Richard Santo talked about his frustration with our profession. He was discussing that chiropractic had become known ONLY for neck and back pain treatment. Dr. Santo's frustration wasn't with such chiropractors, a profession has to profess something, but instead his frustration was our lack of professing Chiropractic Principles.

We have to acknowledge that the majority of people first seek Chiropractic Care for pain related issues. We have professed it thru our words, billing, marketing and advertising, etc... However, Chiropractic has within it a unique proposition; the correction of a Subluxation is our true uniqueness.  We live in a time when the world celebrates a beneficial uniqueness. We have it!  The solution to our frustration is to profess what we can offer humanity.

The GCC recognizes its purpose is not only to protect Subluxation based practices, but to help them flourish. We have developed several avenues to increase the public's utilization of chiropractic.

We have created a separate website with the sole purpose of educating the public about chiropractic. It also has a search tool for them to find the closest GCC chiropractor.

We have done open-to-the-public chiropractic seminars to educate lay people.  The last one being in the Tellus Museum auditorium was a huge success.

We have taken many trips to our state capitol to educate the legislators and other public officials on the importance of chiropractic care for the citizens of Georgia.

We had the governor sign a proclamation declaring September as Subluxation Awareness Month in Georgia. This year the event will be even bigger as it is being celebrated throughout the country with many other states participating.

We have also provided over 100 credit hours of chiropractic continuing education all around the state with a focus on locating, analyzing, and correcting subluxation.  Our focus on education is further complemented by our numerous philosophy nights, nuts & bolts seminars, and CA training programs.

We have created an amazing momentum. The GCC has had more members join our cause than ever before in the history of our organization. As we build on our previous successes, this year promises to be the biggest one yet. I'm excited to have you join us in professing together the Chiropractic Principles which are the greatness of our profession!
